Clinical Advisor in Digital Health - Children's Hospital of Philadelphia
Bonnie Offit, MD, has been a general pediatrician in both primary and urgent care settings for more than 30 years at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. Now she combines her clinical experience with her passion for using technology to solve healthcare problems while working on CHOP’s Digital Health team. After gaining personal experience as a Telehealth (video visit) provider four years ago, she learned the value of video visits first hand. Highlights of her work at CHOP include implementing a free School Telehealth program in an underserved school district. For the past three years she helped run telehealth pilots and has participated on several digital health projects including store and forward dermatology e-visits and symptom checkers. When the COVID-19 pandemic hit, she helped scale telehealth in every department at CHOP including primary care, urgent care, specialty care and surgery. Outside of CHOP, Bonnie has experience in starting small businesses including several frozen yogurt shops, a café, a food truck, a local magazine and most recently, Murphy Cares, which offers a novel type of digital pet therapy. Dr. Offit received her medical degree from The University of Virginia then completed her pediatric residency at Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia. She received a certificate in health informatics from Drexel University.
