Deputy Director General, Pediatric and Adolescent Rehabilitation Center - ALYN Hospital

Naomi Gefen is the Deputy Director General of ALYN Hospital Pediatric and Adolescent Rehabilitation Center in Jerusalem since January 2012. Naomi is responsible for the clinical services of ALYN (PT, OT, ST, Psyc. Soc W, Educ.). Naomi is an occupational therapist with 25 years of experience in assistive technology and medical devices. She holds a BA and MSc in Occupational Therapy from Hebrew University and a Master's Degree in Public Administration from the Harvard Kennedy School as a Wexner Israel Fellow (2008). Naomi specializes in assistive technology for children with disabilities and works together with the Ministry of Health to improve services for children with disabilities. During her 22 years in ALYN, she has been involved in the development of new services (National Website of Assistive Technology, Safe Transportation for Children with Disabilities, The ALYN Powered Mobility Lending Program and others). She has held various positions at ALYN, including Director of the Occupational Therapy Department, Head of the Medical Day Care Rehabilitation Department, and Director of International Relations. Naomi is on the Steering Committee of the International Pediatric Rehabilitation Coalition (USA) and in other local/ municipality and governmental working groups. She is a doctorate candidate at Haifa University, developing a simulator for powered wheelchairs for children with severe disabilities.
