Alidad Ghiassi has been educating interns, residents, fellows and his patients for over twenty years. He started his education at USCD with a B.S. in Biomedical Engineering, earned his M.D. from Keck School of Medicine.
He completed his orthopedic training at USC Keck School of medicine and did additional training in Hand and Microvascular surgery at UCLA Medical Center. In 2000 he joined the UCLA Orthopedic Faculty as the chief of Hand and Upper Extremity service at VA West Los Angeles Medical Center. In 2008 he joined the USC Department of Orthopedic Surgery and has since opened up his own private practice in West Los Angeles.
He is currently the Co-director of the Joseph H. Boyes’ Hand fellowship program. As an academic surgeon he has been educating surgeons, nurses, therapist and his patients for the last two decades in variety of challenging healthcare settings. His broad experiences in the healthcare field brings a unique perspective to the educational process for both patients, trainees, and ancillary staff.
He has 30 peer reviewed publications, over 50 invited lectures and has served as the Scientific Associate Editor for the Journal of Hand Surgery. He is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery and has a Certificate of Added Qualification in Hand and Micro-vascular Surgery.
