Pediatric (Cardiac) Critical Care Physician - SSM HEALTH CARDINAL GLENNON CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL
Dr. Freedman is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in the division of Pediatric Critical Care Medicine. She is originally from Berkeley, CA and earned a BS in Chemical Engineering from MIT. She then joined the Peace Corps and served as an education volunteer in Burkina Faso before returning to the United States for medical school at Georgetown University SOM. She completed her Pediatric residency and her Pediatric Critical Care fellowship at the University of California, San Diego/Rady Children's Hospital. She went on to spend a year as a Pediatric Cardiology fellow at the University of California, Los Angeles/Mattel Children's Hospital in Los Angeles, CA before beginning her practice as a Pediatric (Cardiac) Critical Care Physician. Since completing her training Dr. Freedman has made a commitment to global health, traveling once or twice a year to low and middle income countries to simultaneously train local providers and to care for critically ill children with congenital heart disease on top of her regular clinical duties.
